3/11/2024 0 Comments Warhammer armies projectThe basic ruleset is like a 8th edition with some of the “worst play” rules removed and several rules from 6th/7th added (if not directly, than in spirit). WAP on the otherhand looks more like another edition of Warhammer (also referred to as the unofficial 9th edition) from a rules perspective. But things like Characteristics, Special Rules, etc are all tweaked to varying degrees that it’s doesn’t look like what one might consider “traditional” Warhammer from a rules perspective. The rules are similar and if you’re a seasoned wargamer it will all make more sense. To put it another way, 9th Age is for tournament players and WAP is for fans of the Warhammer lore.ĩth Age is more like a spiritual successor to Warhammer with a heavier focus on competitive play. Warhammer Armies Project (WAP) tends to favor narrative gameplay in favor of strict balance, but feels more like Warhammer Fantasy. Speaking very generally, 9th Age is more for players who like balance and competitive gameplay with minimal emphasis on narrative.
